In Nigeria, large numbers of people are suffering as a result of poor economic situation and high level of unemployment of which persons with disabilities are the worst victims. Persons with disabilities encounter many problems in our society and are often subjected to stigma and unnecessary discrimination. They remain largely marginalized, disproportionately poor, frequently unemployed and largely excluded from civil and political process. They are overwhelmingly voiceless in matters that affect them and the society. It is as a result of this that some of the persons with disabilities have decided to engage themselves with street begging as and alternative means of survival.

Vocational education and training plays a critical role in equipping young people with the right skills to meet labour market needs, fuelling competitiveness while reducing youth unemployment. Improved access to vocational education has the capacity to add impetus to, and help the Federal Government’s to realise its youth empowerment goals. Skills and knowledge are the driving powers behind economic growth and development for any country.

Nations with greater and better levels of skills adjust more effectively to the demands and opportunities of the global labour market. More self-reliant individuals are birthed with this form of education.

Hoechi Foundation aims to provide technical, educational and infrastructural support to ensure that youths are equipped with the education they need to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to the socioeconomic development of Nigeria and the global community.

This is achieved by providing educational support to children with limited resources to get  quality education. By organizing and mobilizing materials, physical and financial resources, we focus on improving learning outcomes for disadvantaged children in under-resources schools and marginalized communities.
